Sketch up

Postby jutboyd » Thu Mar 30, 2017 10:21 pm

Hello- I was curious if anyone is using sketch up to generate your 3d models? If so and you have been able to print successfully would you mind sharing your work flow. I am specifically, wondering what plugins you use in sketch up, what file format you export in, what program are you slicing in, how does Repetrel handle it, and are you having success? Thanks for any help

While I haven't tried it, what I've read online is that the sketch-up output (at least with default settings) isn't "watertight" - meaning that while it's a good enough model to render onscreen, the mesh has gaps. Perhaps MeshLab will repair it.

Let us know what you find.
